Pliskins final story

Posted by Holy-Howard - October 9th, 2009

Sorry you guys and gals haven't heard anything from me since the release of LoP 3.1. Especially any news regarding the second episode of Pliskins final adventure.

The truth is, the last month was really stressful for me. My colleague was on vacation in NY and I had to complete dozens of projects on my own in a short period of time. On top of that school started again and therefore was occupied for the last 3 weeks.

I wasn't able to actually start working on Ep2 itself but thought of new puzzles and characters for the game. I also make it no secret that the last game wasn't that successful as I'd hoped so I thought of ways to improve the game to make it more appealing for a wider audience.

First of all I want to include more puzzles and make the game a bit more challenging. I'm going to change the sidequests and fuse them into the main storyline in toned down versions 'cause many people found them to be too confusing. The game will also have new areas to explore while some of the older ones (like the temple of time) will be inaccessible (filesize issue). Oh yeah, Pliskin is going to regain his ability to combine items. ;)

Some people asked me via email why only a few characters have an actual voice over and many have not. It has nothing to do with me being too lazy to organise more voice actors but
with the games filesize. If I gave all the characters a voice then I would have had to cut most of the ambient soundtrack to not go overboard with the already big filesize. Maybe I'll change the way I handle the side characters in Ep2. But it's too early to be sure about that.

Likewise too early to say is a release date. My current goal is to be finished by winter.

Why not play the previous Pliskin games and recommend LoP3.1 for the "Adventure Games" section. ;-)

PS: To my surprise a lot of people liked the background picture I made for episode ones main menu and asked for a wallpaper version.

are we gonna see some more pliskin action?

I hate to e annoying, but can you make the Pliskin move a little faster? Thanks and good luck on your projects :D

I really like that you still use the same humor as the second one. I would like to see some recap of previous episodes where you criticize the graphic from the second episode :-P

I liked the Zelda parody ;-)

By the way, you forgot to put 2009 in front of the title =/

Meet The Medic done yet?

I think you may do voicover for every character, the file size is not a big issue, if you ask Tom nicely he will let you upload a large file.

Not long ago I saw a 30 MB game here on NG, so you really shouldn't worry about the file size. (Sorry for double post, but I think this woths to be mentioned.)

Good luck, and take your time! I'll be looking forward to your second part. :)

if you need any voice actors, id be glad to help

any news on the next part?

I'm still waiting! I want more of that humour where you kinda make a bit fun of yourself and stuff...

So... 2011 and still no updates on anything? Also, When is it coming out?

You know you said Pliskins was not successful but....
The game has 136,367 views and 4.33 score I don't know about you but I call that successful. I think the game was trully great maybe you launch it at a wrong time.
I hope you make part 2 because in my opinion your click point Pliskins is one of the best Games on Newgrounds.

So are you ever going to finish what you started?
